Get Networked in Oregon

There's a very extensive directory of resources for entrepreneurs in Oregon at OregonStartups.com.  Here are some favorites:

  • Entrepreneur Groups: these are great places to meet other entrepreneurs, not to mention investors and mentors.

  • Incubators/Accelerators: There are real advantages to finding a place where you can work with other entrepreneurs and coaches. There are many options.  Some incubators have a seed fund.  Some offer 3 month boot camps and then you're done.  Others provide ongoing mentoring and office space. All offer some level of mentoring and networking.  Read up on them, and see what option fits your needs.

  • Sector Specific Help : Social cause, CleanTech/Sustainability, Food, Film, Apparel, Biotech, Transportation, and more.

  • Websites/Blogs: There are some great starter-links to get plugged in to entrepreneurship in Oregon

  • Universities: many of the schools in Oregon have entrepreneurship programs

  • Events: Lots to check out here for networking opportunities.  Especially recommended: OEN PubTalks™ and Startup Weekend.

I'd suggest not spending much time in going over the OregonStartups "Funding" branch.  Odds are, you're not ready!

Check out all the details and links at OregonStartups.com.  Happy hunting!
