Springboard Project
New businesses founded on discoveries made at Oregon Health & Science
University are getting a boost from a new suite of accounting, business
development and legal services provided by the Springboard Project, which
gives selected OHSU startups access to experts in business plan
development and review, local venture capitalists, and mentoring from local
entrepreneurs. OHSU startups are chosen to participate in the Springboard
Project through a competitive review process.

Technology & Research Collaborations
The mission of the TRC is to support the university's research community by
facilitating and managing research collaborations and business partnerships
and to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship which enables
transfer of research from the laboratory to the market for public benefit.
Bioscience Innovation Fund
The OHSU Bioscience Innovation Fund helps bridge the gap between
discovery and initial commercial seed funding for promising early stage
OHSU technologies. Through this fund, the University invests a limited
amount of money in order to achieve a specific set of milestones needed to
help achieve an initial commercial investment. This commercial investment
may come from a licensee, angel investor, or early stage venture capital fund.
The Fund is provided by the OHSU Foundation and the application process is
managed through the Technology and Research Collaborations office.

Technology Transfer     (and startup resources)
Oregon State University's Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) facilitates the
transfer of technologies developed at OSU to companies for the
commercialization of inventions. The OTT's ultimate goal for the outstanding
research, which occurs at OSU, is the commercialization of inventions for the
public's greater use and benefit. The OTT also provides economic
development to Oregon based companies and Oregon constituents. The OTT
assists faculty and departments on the education on patents, intellectual
property, manages OSU's patent portfolio, and assists in identifying,
protecting, developing and the licensing of the OSU inventions.
Weatherford Hall reopened this fall after a $20 million renovation,
transforming the 76-year-old building into a specially designed home for
nearly 300 students in OSU's Austin Entrepreneurship Program. What makes
Weatherford unique is its complete focus on entrepreneurship - from the
students, to live-in faculty, to in-hall lectures by visiting industry leaders, to the
special "incubator" rooms where students can design and develop their own
    businesses.
The Open Source Lab at Oregon State University exists to help accelerate the
adoption of open source software across the globe and aid the community
that develops and uses it. The OSL's talented team of students and full-time
staff do this by focusing on software development as well as hosting the
    world's largest open source projects

state of Oregon to promote innovation for a better future. It is a three-year,
$600,000 project, funded by the NSF’S Partnerships for Innovation Program
and headed by four faculty members at Portland State University: Dean Marvin
Kaiser, Professor Melissa Appleyard, Professor Steve Benight, and Professor

management and marketing with leadership development course-work,

these combined skills.  Teams of 2-5 students each invest 200+ hours per

400 to 1,000 hours of analysis by talented graduate students, click here for
